LinkedIn Rolls Out Polling for Groups

Mashable contributor wrote, “Aiming to spur more conversation among its one million Groups, LinkedIn on Wednesday announced Polls, a new feature that’s designed to get a quick read on an issue.”

So why add polls on a job networking site?  Wasserman says, “…adding the Poll function addresses what’s perceived to be a major issue for LinkedIn: The lack of activities there beyond networking and job seeking.”

LinkedIn is more than just a resume site, and with the creation of polls inside sub-groups – we’ll be able to see if users feel the same way.

Duke survey: Social media marketing spending on the rise

Marketing executives are planning to increase spending in social media in their overall marketing strategies, according to a new Duke University survey.

Chief marketing officers in the U.S. intend to increase social media spending from the current level of 7.1 percent of their overall marketing budget to 10.1 percent during the next year. They also expect to see this percentage increase to 17.5 percent in the next five years.
