Google Will Change Web Marketing in 2012

Just days away from the big ball drop.  Goodbye 2011 and Hello 2012.  Ready or not here we come.  Out with the old in with the new.

So that is all the crazy sayings I’m going to think up right now – let’s get right to the point.  Google has the power to change web marketing in the near future and signs, according to Brian Whalley’s article, point to its is happening as you read this!

Whalley says, “Google is poised to completely alter how websites market themselves over the next year. While easing users into changing search results pages, Google has also designed a new method for websites to structure data so that its crawler can better pull information. This is a tremendous strategy. Google doesn’t need to own all of the information in the world, but does own the methods of accessing that information — as well as the ability to advertise to people who use that access.”

Google Increases U.S. Search Market Share, ComScore Says

Nov. 9 (Bloomberg) — “Google Inc. widened its lead over Yahoo! Inc. in the U.S. Web-search market in October, according to researcher ComScore Inc.

Search share for Google rose to 65.6 percent last month from 65.3 percent in September, according to Reston, Virginia- based ComScore. Yahoo’s share slipped to 15.2 percent from 15.5 percent, while Microsoft Corp. added a tenth of a percentage point, garnering 14.8 percent of the U.S. market.

Google, which derives most of its revenue from query- result-based advertising, is trying to improve its search engine after rivals Yahoo and Microsoft signed a 10-year partnership to help them compete with the market leader.”
